Do Now: Trace the map on p. 25. You must include all of the information, including the compass, although you may handwrite rather than trace the words if they are too small for you to copy. Attach it to your FN#4.

Then: Read from the beginning of Ch. 4 to p. 23, ¶ 4.

Then: Copy the following verbatim in Exercise 4E:

3200 BC – 3200 BC is the year the Scorpion King made his effort to conquer the Egyptian world. 3200 BC is also the time when Egyptian cities experienced the phenomenon of streaming-in.

Flow of the Nile – Egyptian geographical orientation is based upon the flow of the Nile. Starting high upstream in the south, the Nile flows down to the north and out through the Nile Delta and into the Mediterranean Sea.

HW: Complete Exercises 4A - 4E in your Field Notes No. 4. We will complete Exercise 4F tomorrow.

Don’t forget to complete Exercise 4D from yesterday: Write a paragraph of five complete sentences about the rise of aristocracy in Sumeria. If you need help with it, ask!
