Alyattes – Alyattes, king of the Lydians, led his army to meet the Median army as they fought their way towards Asia Minor. The Lydians fought the Medians for five years. The stalemate was eventually broken with some help from Nebuchadnezzar II.

Cambyses I – Cambyses was a Persian vassal to king Astyages, and was chosen by the Median king to marry his daughter, Mandane. Cambyses and Mandane were the parents of Cyrus the Great.

Nabonidus – Nabonidus, the army officer who helped negotiate the treaty between the Medes and the Lydians, ended up as king of Babylon after the multiple short reigns of Nebuchadnezzar II’s kin.
