Do Now—Exercise 17B: Draw part of the D18 family tree that covers: Amenhotep I, son of Ahmose, appointed his brother-in-law, Tuthmosis I, to be the next king. Tuthmosis I married Queen Ahmose, who was either Amenhotep I’s sister (and therefore the daughter of Ahmose), or else his own sister. In any case, Queen Ahmose bore princess Hatshepsut, who married her half-brother, Tuthmosis II (Tuthmosis I’s son from a lesser wife, Mutnofret). Tuthmosis III was, in turn, born from a concubine of Tuthmosis II, Iset, which made Hatshepsut Tuthmosis III’s aunt and stepmother. (Model answer below...)
