What causes a “dark age” in human history. Include the following in your answer:

1) At least one complete sentence written in your own words

2) A one-sentence quote from the book followed by the page number in parentheses and a period after the end-parenthesis. You may use this quote if you write it exactly as it appears here: “[T]he term [dark age] tends to be used only when written records have been kept and then trail off, rather than for times before written accounts are widely used” (284 fn).
