Today in class we read p. 399 – end of p. 404 and completed the following exercises:

Exercise 32A—copy verbatim:

Cimmerians / Gimirrai – The Cimmerians, or Gimirrai as they were called by the Assyrians, were nomadic tribes who had long roamed around the shores of the Caspian Sea. As the Cimmerians gathered together above the tribes of the Medes and Persians, they began to pose a threat to Assyria.

Scythians – The Scythians were a tribe of nomads who filtered down from the Caucasus Mountains, north of the Black Sea. Esarhaddon made an alliance with the Scythians in order to protect Assyria from the Cimmerian/Urartian threat.
