Gyges – Gyges was king of the Lydia. When Phrygia fell, Gyges found that his kingdom was the strongest power in all of Anatolia (Asia Minor).
Psammetichus / Psamtik I – Psammetichus, son of Necho I, was captured by Esarhaddon, raised in the Assyrian court, and installed as an Assyrian vassal. With Ashurbanipal, Psammetichus sacked Dynasty 25 in Thebes in 663 B.C., but then successfully rebelled against Assyria in 653 B.C., claiming as a Dynasty 26 pharaoh the title Uniter of the Two Lands.
