Do Now—Exercise 34E:
Review Pg. 447, ¶ 3-5 and note three things that Nebuchadnezzar II did in the tradition of Mesopotamian kings in order to establish his position as a great king. Complete sentences are not necessary.
1) Restored and added to temple after temple in Babylon, all dedicated to Marduk.
2) Built a ceremonial road for the festival of Marduk, a seventy-foot-wide path from the central temple complex to the ceremonial Ishtar Gate.
3) Built himself three palaces, gilded with blue glazing, gold, and silver, and in one of these palaces built the Hanging Gardens of Babylon for his wife, Amytis.
You must include all of the above information.

3) Who did Ashurbanipal fight on his northern and eastern fronts and what were the outcomes? (Ch. 55)
4) Who were the Etruscans? (Ch. 57)
5) Describe Nebuchadnezzar’s life in one long run-on sentence (p. 441; Ch. 57 & 58)
Although you do not need to use complete sentences, the quality of your effort will be graded.
